My name is Dillon Pegram, I’m studying Pastoral Ministry at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and I will graduate Spring of 2020 with my Masters Degree. My wife Kirsten and I have been married since August 6, 2017.
I enjoy reading books like the Lord of the Rings, watching movies like Star Wars and anything Marvel, playing and watching Basketball, and long walks to anywhere. There are still toys in my room, on my nightstand and desk at work. For me it’s important to keep imagination alive and for me I want my kiddos to see that.
Adoption for me is an example of Christs love for me and that he would look to have me as an adopted brother into his family. Because of this picture, it reminds me of the love the Lord showed me when he sent Jesus to earth to die for me and be resurrected for my sake. He took my sins away and adopted me and so I want to show that kind of love for a child who needs it. Our prayer during this journey is not to just get a child, our prayer is that we would see what the Lord wants us to see and that we would love like He loved us.

Hello! So I usually start by telling people that I am the oldest of 9 children, yes we all grew up together and yes I love it! My siblings have become some of my best friends! I have a huge extended family and I think it is the best thing ever! We currently live in Raleigh, North Carolina but Virginia will always be my home. I love reading fiction novels and recently have enjoyed books set in Nigeria or Africa (don’t ask my why because I am not sure) but I also like historical fiction, and romance novels. I also like to crochet, paint sometimes, hanging out with friends, and drinking coffee.
I am an ENFP/J, a 1 on the enneagram, my top strengths are restoration, development, empathy, input (I am a researcher and collect coffee mugs), and individualist (meaning I like to understand the unique qualities that make a person who they are and can figure out how to help groups work together). I really like personality tests, organization, and planning but I am also very flexible (from being the oldest of nine). I believe in fighting for justice, for standing up for those I love, and I have a lot of big emotions.
I have wanted to adopt for a long time but recently as we have begun to pursue domestic adoption God has been also stirring up my affections for orphan care in the church and the need for good christian community. I am so excited to begin this journey of growing our family through adoption. Adoption is more than a next step to me, this is a passion and a calling and I love to answer any questions and talk about it.
